Marloth Bush Retreat is a thatched hide-away surrounded by natural thorn bush with a private waterhole that is frequented by many species of game and bird life. In the evening, lesser bush-babies visit – sometimes coming within 2 meters of guests! Sitting around the fire under the dazzling wild night sky, African night sounds of lion roaring, hippo grunting and hyena calling, are part of the bush experience, and a great lullaby to fall asleep to after a day of sunshine and safari adventures.
A wide variety of game and about 350 bird species are found around the Retreat in natural mixed thorn bush. This is a bird-watcher`s paradise. Maroth Park is a destination that allows you the freedom to run/ walk/ cycle along dusty roads that are frequented by the local wildlife daily. This includes free access to the banks of neighboring Kruger Park’s Crocodile River. Most days elephants can be seen feeding on the banks of the Crocodile River. Often lion wait here too, watching for prey animals coming down to drink. Leopard are also seen from time to time.
Our location on the southern border of the Kruger National Park also offers our guests easy access to both the Crocodile Bridge and Malelane gates into Kruger.
